DDA Principal Commissioner sent to four-day CBI custody

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has got a four-day custody of the Principal Commissioner, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), and three persons in an alleged bribery case. According to CBI, the Special Judge for CBI Cases at Patiala House Courts on Thursday remanded the accused to a four-day custody. Searches were conducted at various locations in Delhi at the residential and official premises of the accused, which led to the recovery of incriminating documents including details of the property and the bank accounts. "Investigation is continuing in the case," said CBI.
CBI on Wednesday booked Principal Commissioner and three others for accepting a bribe in exchange for the allotment of a flat. All four accused were arrested. According to CBI, they have registered a case under sections 120-B of IPC and sections 7, 12 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against J P Aggarwal, Principal Commissioner, DDA, and three persons who were identified as Sunil Gupta, Anil Gupta and J P Sharma on the allegations of a matter related to bribery.
During the investigation, J P Aggarwal, Sunil Gupta and Anil Gupta were apprehended while transacting the alleged bribe of Rs 4 lakh for showing undue favour by J P Aggarwal in the matter of alleged allotment of flat to J P Sharma was also apprehended subsequently in the matter.
