DDA okays revised Budget Estimates

New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in a meeting on Wednesday approved revised Budget Estimates for the year, 2019-20 and 2020-21, which have been pegged at Rs 4,266.55 crore and Rs 5,993.92 crore respectively, with disposal of land and houses to be major contributer to the revenue.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of LG Anil Baijal, also revised the Budget Estimates for 2019-20 and 2020-21 for expenditure, which has been slated at Rs 5,338.10 crore and Rs 6,244.23 crore respectively. "Budget Estimates 2020-21 contains a provision of Rs 248 crore for acquisition of land and payment of enhanced compensation, Rs 2,968.96 crore for development of land and Rs 1,914.47 crore for construction of houses and shops," said a statement by DDA.
Similarly, the Revised Budget Estimates 2019-20 contains a provision of Rs 246 crore for the acquisition of land and payment of enhanced compensation and Rs 1,809.74 crore for development of land and Rs 2291.65 crore for construction of houses and shops.
Meanwhile, the meeting also proposed a revision of 'Adoption of Parks' Policy – 2019, to bring in more transparency was also approved. "Under the revised policy, the parks are available for adoption under four Scheme Types to offer more options of adoption ranging from up gradation and maintenance, full maintenance, maintenance of portion of park to installation of facility," stated DDA.
In another decision, to establish institutional hub in Narela Sub city, the Authority also gave final approval for change of Land Use of 36.6 Hectares in District Centre Narela from Commercial to Public and Semi Public (PSP).
Meanwhile, the authority was informed that work order for survey of 160 JJ clusters on DDA and Central Government Lands has been awarded to M/s Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM) by DDA on November 29.
"There are 378 clusters on DDA and L&DO lands in Delhi. Survey of 32 clusters has already been completed. Rest 186 JJ clusters will be surveyed through agency (s) hired by DDA through call of tenders by the Chief Engineer (South Zone) and Chief Engineer (East Zone)," said DDA.
In another to reduce carbon footprints, the Authority approved a proposal to include provisions of Electric Vehicle Charging Points in UBBL 2016. "Based on the occupancy pattern and the total parking provisions in the premises of various building types, charging infrastructures to be provided only for EVs which is currently assumed to be 20 per cent of all vehicle holding capacity/parking capacity at the premises," said DDA.
Member DDA, Vijender Gupta on Wednesday informed that DDA has taken a giant leap forward towards creation of major institutional hub at Narela to promote higher education.
