DCW seeks data on female officers from Delhi Police

The Delhi Commission for Woman on Tuesday issued a notice to Delhi Police to know about the staff strength pattern. The Commission also sought details on gender-wise and rank-wise staff strength, as well as the number of female investigative officers per unit and per police station.
The Commission also raised the issue of low percentage of female officers in Delhi Police, pointing out the only nine percent of the police force in Delhi is female.
To this extent, the notice was sent to Delhi Police by DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal.
The notice further asked for detail on cases perused and case pendency on each investigating officer (IO), so as to determine the workload that Delhi Police personnel go through.
The Commission also asked for details on the names, designation, gender, place of posting and educational qualification of each IO. It also sought implementation of the Union Home Ministry's order on 33 percent reservation for women in Delhi Police.
