DCW chief asks LG to fast track two recent rape cases

new delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal wrote a letter to LG Anil Baijal, on the two gruesome rapes and assaults in the Capital — a 12-year-old girl and a 90 year old woman — by strangers and the fearlessness among the perpetrators. She requested Baijal to issue necessary orders to the Delhi police to file the chargesheet in both the cases within the next three days. She also requested the LG to make suitable arrangements for speedy trial of the cases ensuring the completion of trial in two months. The DCW chief appealed to the LG to look into the matter and "ensure exemplary punishment — death penalty to the culprits in both the cases in a fast tracked manner."
