DCW asks police to give reason for not arresting Daati Maharaj

New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) sent notice to police in connection with the rape case filed against the self-styled godman Daati Maharaj and others.

The Commission has asked the police to give reasons for non arresting the godman and other accused persons. The DCW notice claimed that commission regarding the. It is brought to our notice that the victim had approached Fatehpur Beri police station with her complaint but the FIR in the matter was filed after the delay of several days.

"The accused person has not been arrested till date and the charge-sheet was filed without arrest. Reportedly, the high court has taken the stern view of the matter and has given strong remarks on the conduct of Delhi Police," claimed the DCW notice.

Aghast at the laxity of the Delhi Police, the court has transferred the investigation of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The conduct of the Delhi Police in the case raises strong apprehensions and gives weight to the allegations that the police are in connivance with the accused and has not arrested the accused persons due to the strong links of the accused," the DCW notice stated.
