Crime Branch nabs gangsters involved in double murder

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police Crime branch on Thursday said it has arrested three members of the dreaded Neeraj Bawania gang.

The arrested men have been identified as Vaasu Sharma, Sarjeev and Yogesh, and cops have recovered two automatic US-made pistols, one country-made pistol, six cartridges and stolen Swift car from their possession.

"Sharma was a parole jumper in a sensational double murder case in Tihar jail of the year 2015 in which two members of the rival Rajesh Bawania gang, Anil Gujjar and Ishwar, were killed by him and his associates," said Additional CP Ajit Kumar Singla.

In 2015, Sharma along with his associates had killed Anil Gujjar of Adarsh Nagar and Ishwar of Khayala of the rival Rajesh Bawania gang, who were also desperate criminals lodged in jail in several cases.

The accused were arrested from Dwarka on August 26.

Sharma is a desperate criminal and a bad character in Jahangirpuri police station and had been in jail for the last six years in several cases of murder and attempt to murder.

In jail, he came in contact with gangster Neeraj Bawania and joined his gang. During his parole jump period, he stole a Swift car from Shahbad Dairy and along with his associate Sarjeev and others fired several rounds of gunshots to terrorise a businessman and to establish supremacy in the area.
