Crime Branch arrest robber for two stabbing incidents in north-east Delhi within 12 hours

NEW DELHI: The inter-state cell of the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested a robber for two separate stabbing incidents in North-East Delhi.

The accused has been identified as Haider Khan alias Suhail Haider (25) resident of Kardampuri.

According to the police, the suspect Suhail Haider, was involved in violent attacks aimed at instilling fear among the public.

The breakthrough came after Head Constable Gajendra Singh received specific intelligence about a suspect wearing blood-stained clothes in the Kardampuri area.

Acting on this lead, a team led by Inspectors Pankaj Malik and Rohit Kumar, under the supervision of ACP Ramesh Chander Lamba, moved swiftly to the trans-Yamuna region.

On January 11, Khan was spotted in Kardampuri and attempted to flee upon noticing the police. Following a 200-meter chase, he was apprehended by HC Gajendra Singh. Blood-stained clothes and shoes worn during the crimes confirmed

his involvement.

During interrogation, Khan confessed to committing two stabbings on January 10. Accompanied by his brother Umer and friend Asif, he engaged in arguments with two individuals, Atif and Bakib, over minor disputes and stabbed them using a knife.

Both victims sustained grievous injuries. The motive behind the attacks was reportedly to create fear among

the public.

Two FIRs were registered in connection with the incidents at Welcome Police Station, and Jyoti Nagar Police Station.

Based on Khan’s disclosures, the police recovered a blood-stained knife, the clothes and shoes he wore during the crimes, and two high-end mobile phones, including an iPhone 15 Pro Max, suspected to be stolen.

Further investigation revealed Khan’s extensive criminal record, with previous involvement in cases of robbery and burglary.

His past offenses include Robbery in the Jafrabad area, Attempted Robbery in the Jyoti Nagar area, and Burglary in the Welcome area

The police commended the ISC team for their exemplary swift action, which resulted in the resolution of two violent stabbing cases within

just 12 hours.
