Crime Branch and special cell team up to arrest 5 criminals

NEW DELHI: Five criminals who helped a prisoner escape from Maulana Azad Dental hospital where they threw chili powder in the eyes of the policemen have been caught by a joint team of crime branch and special cell of Delhi Police.
The joint team was formed to arrest one of the active gang members Salman alias Salimudin involved in abetting the escape of criminal Sandeep alias Dhillu. In February 2018, Sunny alias Rohit, Deepak, Parmod along with other gang members Salman, Parmajit, Naresh and Deepak including one CCL (Juvenile) hatched a plan to facilitate the escape of convict Sandeep, a jail inmate, from Maulana Azad Dental Hospital where he came for treatment.
As per the planning, on February 19 last year, accused Salman along with his gang members finally got success in executing the escape of Sandeep. Two associates of the convict Sandeep came from behind and put chili powder in eyes of police team. In the meantime, the convict Sandeep disengaged himself from the custody after a scuffle with police team and escaped from there.
Later, Salman was arrested on March 16 by the police team. On March 27, the team got success in arresting another accused Deepak from Rohini. He was found to be possessing one country made pistol of 315 bore along with two live cartridges. One JCL, who is also active with them was also apprehended. CCL (Juvenile) was produced before JJ Board by the Juvenile Officer and sent to observation room by the court order.
