Gurugram: The Gurugram district court has ordered an FIR to be filed against Gurugram police officers that include three officials of Assistant Commissioner of Police rank and a station house officer. The case involves a cheating petition filed by complainant Suman Virk.
According to the complainant, she allegedly got Rs 75 lakh as the alimony after getting a divorce from her husband.
From the money, her son reportedly pestered her to purchase a property.
However, rather than registering the property in the name of the 65-year-old Suman Virk, the property was registered in the name of her son's wife.
Later, they sold the property and after continuous fights, she was reportedly returned Rs 17 lakh only.
However, she was duped of this amount by her daughter who took the entire amount in terms of loans and never returned it.
The continuous pestering by the 65-year-old women further enraged her blood relatives who then allegedly drugged her and kept her in captivity.
It was earlier done by her son and then followed by her daughter.
She finally was able to rescue herself and file a complaint against her family in the Sector-56 police station.
There was, however, no action initiated by the law enforcement officials who rather weakened the case.
After there was no action, the hapless women moved the court which ordered a probe into the matter.
It was later found that there was a deliberate attempt to change the criminal case into a civil case and thereby, weaken the case.
Acting on the court order, Gurugram police have booked the four police officers, Suman's son, daughter, daughter-in-law and son-in-law under sections 323, 328, 365, 368, 341, 406, 420, 182, 199, 120B and 506 of the IPC. The owner and employees of the medical centre have also been booked in the case.
"When I pursued the matter relentlessly the case was referred to senior police officials but my grievance was not addressed," said Suman Virk.
