Couple held for snatching
NEW DELHI: A young couple has been arrested by Delhi Police for a series of snatching and stealing incidents in West Delhi.
The duo is infamous as 'SONI-MONI' gang. They used to snatch and steal ladies purses and mobile phones on bikes and a Scooty. At their instance, total of 10 ladies purse, 5 mobile phones, one stolen bike, one stolen scooty and cash 7,000 have been recovered.
On October 10, these two snatched the purse of a woman going in an auto-rickshaw in Vikaspuri in West Delhi. During the course of the investigation, the team members checked around 15-20 CCTV footages near the place of incident.
After two days of said incident, the couple was spotted near Vikas Puri Mor in the area of Vikas Puri on the same bike by a police team. However, a policeman managed to have their pictures as well as video in his mobile phone which he later shared with his team members. Both of them were identified on October 16 and arrested.
Police is trying to know if they are involved in more incidents than they have revealed. The cops are also trying to know the receiver of the snatched items so that the larger network can be unearthed.
