Couple found dead with stab injuries in SE Delhi

New Delhi: The bodies of a couple with stab injuries have been found at their rented house in southeast Delhi's Pul Prahladpur area. They were identified as Aakash (32) and Bhawna (29).

The deceased couple were married for six years. Police said that on October 22, a PCR call was received regarding the incident.

On reaching the spot it was found that one male & female were lying on the floor of a one-room house and pool of the blood was found.

"It was also found that there were stabbed injuries on the body of both persons," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Chinmoy Biswal.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning when their five-year-old son was in school, police said. Police also probing whether after a domestic quarrel the man may have killed his wife before killing himself.

"This fact is being investigated. We are probing case from different angles," police said.

DCP Biswal said that residents heard a loud noise from their room which was bolted from inside. They broken the door and entered the room along with other neighbour and found both Aakash and Bhawna lying under a pool of blood and one blood-stained vegetable knife was also found in the room.

Both the injured persons were shifted to Apollo Hospital, where the doctor declared both dead.

"It further came to notice that they were married 6 years back and having 5 years old son, who had gone to school at the time of the incident," said DCP Biswal.

Since they were married for less than seven years, the Sub Divisional Magistrate of the area has been informed and inquest proceedings are being conducted, he added.

On local enquiry, it revealed that both Akash and Bhawana used to quarrel regularly as Akash who was working as sanitation supervisor was wasting money and did not give money to Bhawna for daily needs. Further investigation in the case is going on.
