Couple booked for trying to extort money from bizwoman

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad police have booked a married couple for allegedly trying to molest an Allahabad-based businesswoman and trying to extort nearly Rs one crore on pretext of an obscene video of her while bathing in Indirapuram area. Cops said that the accused is brother of victim's best friend and they lured her by offering lucrative business deals.

According to police, the accused, identified as Saurabh and his wife Sargam, lives in Vijaya Apartment in Indirapuram area. "The victim had started her business of stock exchange in Allahabad a few years ago. One of her close friends had called to Ghaziabad for some business deal. Later the victim met her friend's bother and his family for business purpose," said police.

As per reports, the victim was called by her female friend to Ghaziabad in January this year. Her friend make her to meet her brother Saurabh and his wife who told victim that they wanted to invest in her company and tried to build up closeness with her. The victim also started living in Vijaya Apartment after taking a flat on rent by March, this year. Before victim shifted in her rented house, the accused took keys from the victim on the pretext of cleaning the flat and installed a hidden camera to her bathroom.

"Saurabh called victim at his house for lunch on April 7 and started touching her without her permission. When the victim tried to resist, the accused blackmailed her after showing her the video of her bathing," read the report.

The woman further said that the accused demanded Rs 30 lakhs to delete the video but kept in taking more and more money.
