Coronavirus fear shows no sign of ebbing in Gurugram
Gurugram: The fear of COVID-19 amongst lakhs of workers is showing no signs of ebbing from the time Gurugram's name got associated with the virus.
There are reports that a 29-year-old Delhi resident who became the thirty-first victim of COVID 19 was working in a multinational company in Gurugram. Adding more to fears there have also been concerns that some of the
PAYTM workers have also shown symptoms of the disease. Gurugram has taken drastic steps to curb the spread of the virus. Most of the multinational companies in the city has already prohibited the use of biometric machines in their headquarters.
China, Japan and South Korea are one of the worst victims of Coronavirus and all three countries have invested heavily in Gurugram in forms of electronics, IT-ITES, automobiles and automobile components. A sizeable presence from South East, Asian countries could also be seen at the police expo event to sell the technology and weapon systems. To prevent the spread of the disease, sources indicated that all the Japanese, Korean and few Chinese companies have stopped their senior executives from coming to India until there is an improvement in the situation.
Already undergoing the sluggish phase of growth with diminishing sales, the fear of Coronavirus has sounded more bad news for the automobile industry and its ancillaries. Not only is there reduced manpower but also the supplies from China and Southeast Asian countries have been adversely affected. With Rs 56,000 crore of exports coming from IT-ites, laxity to the employees has been given to the employees to work from home.
In Gurugram to attend an event Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday also spoke about the sudden surge in the cases of patients getting affected by the coronavirus, "We have alerted our Heath teams that are continuously monitoring the situation and sanitising the places," said the Chief Minister.
