Corona: Entry of outsiders banned in Noida Extension societies
Greater Noida: Amid a public scare in the wake of Coronavirus, many housing societies in Gaur city and Noida Extension area have banned the entry of outsiders such as delivery boys, newspaper hawkers, maids, milkmen and others. The supplies are being received at the gate where people pick up what needed.
The move came after two persons, including a woman, both residents of separate high rise societies in Noida, were tested positive with Covid-19. Following this, the nearby markets were shut while sanitation and cleaning several nearby societies were started with immediate effect.
Initially a few societies banned entry of outsiders but later the numbers were raised and till now over 20 societies across Noida and Greater Noida have banned entry of outsiders under the threat of deadly virus while those who are still allowing are undertaking proper thermal screening and sanitation of visitors before they enter.
Manish Kumar, a resident of Arihant Arden society in Greater Noida west said that the restriction on the entry of outsiders has been banned in their society from Thursday. "In the view of corona virus, the society management has decided to ban entry of outsiders in residential towers while the items including milk, food orders, courier and newspaper are collected by the residents from the reception area of their respective towers. The decision of banning entry of house maid is under consideration and soon the society management will take an action," said Kumar.
Similar to Arihant Arden society, several other societies including a few in Gaur city and sector 76, 77, 78 areas have also taken the same decision over entry of outsiders.
When people are trying different ways to fight this deadly virus, some children in Noida have started a precautionary activity in which they have recycled the material at home. Children in gaur sportswood in sector 79 pasted small cardboard and thermocol sheets in lifts with toothpicks and matchsticks immersed in them. The children are advising people to use the toothpicks to press the lift button and discard the toothpick in the can placed along with the cardboard.
