Cops nab murderer after 10 km-long chase
New Delhi: Three police personnel from North West district arrested a murderer after chasing him for more than 10 kilometres in a Uttar Pradesh village on Tuesday.
The law enforcement agency claimed that the accused had stabbed her mother-in-law to death in June 2018.
Police claimed that the accused identified as Afroz, who lives with his wife in North West Delhi area. His wife was pregnant in June when his mother-in-law visited the house with other children.
"There was no space in the room so the accused used to sleep somewhere else and was not earning much to feed all the family members. On the day of the incident, he started fighting with his wife and when her mother-in-law tried to intervene, he stabbed her to death" police said. "The accused then fled to his native place in UP's Ghazipur area where he was working as a labourer. When the police team reached the spot the accused started to run ." the police added. "Team of Special staff Distt North West @DelhiPolice comprising SI Anand Singh, HC Vikash and constable Rahul chased him for over 10 kms & then nabbed him from village Bairan, Gazipur," tweeted DCP (North West) Aslam Khan.
