Cops foil sharp-shooter's bid to eliminate AAP MLA

Uttam Nagar sitting MLA Naresh Balyan was on target of the dreaded sharp-shooter of Manjeet Mahal gang. The shooter, Sombir, was on his mission to kill Balyan but his intentions were foiled by Delhi Police Crime Branch. Sombir's arrest by Crime Branch revealed that apart from Uttam Nagar AAP MLA Narsh Balyan, he also intended to kill the deputy SP of Panipat jail.

It was when Sombir shot dead a property dealer Bijender Kumar over a property dispute in Uttam Nagar last year in November; he made his intentions clear that he wanted to make his name well-known amongst the notorious gangs of Delhi-NCR. Ever since this, the cops have been looking for this notorious shooter of the dreaded Manjeet Mahal ganag and Rajesh Nahri gang of Haryana.

When the cops received information that the accused would be coming to Dwarka, they laid a trap but as they tried to apprehend him, he tried to snatch the pistol of ASI Satpal Dagar but before things could go berserk, he was overpowered and arrested.

Interrogation revealed that in a murder case of Bahadurgarh, Haryana, he was jailed and there he came in contact with dreaded gangsters. Later, he was arrested for various other shooting cases before being declared a proclaimed offender.

"The accused was planning to kill sitting MLA of Uttam Nagar Naresh Balyan as the accused was thinking that he is favouring his rival party on a property dispute," said DCP (Crime) Ram Gopal Naik.

The cops also revealed that the accused had plans to eliminate the deputy SP of Panipat jail to take revenge on him as he stalled his notorious activities in the Jhajjhar Jail. Cops foiled both his plans with his timely arrest.
