Control Room for stranded migrant workers in Delhi
New Delhi: The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Delhi has directed for setting up of three-member Control Room that will look into the troubles of the stranded migrant workers. On April 24 a control room was formed with three officers who will look into the complaints.
Ajay Rawal, member of the Control Room, said, "We resolve their issues like, food arrangements and medical problems, and lack of essentials. Once the complaint comes we will take up the matter with the concerned DMs and help in resolving the problem so that the
migrant labourers or people estranged in Delhi from other states continue to live with ease."
In a meeting chaired by the Speaker of Lok Sabha on April 21 it was decided that all the legislatures set up a control room to assist and act as coordinators for the relief measures taken for the migrant workers and stranded people from other states.The meeting was attended by all the Presiding Officers.
The Officers or members of the newly formed Control Room are expected to be available on their mobile phones and coordinate with the District Authorities, Members and the Control Room of Lok Sabha or state Legislatures.
The officers of the Control Room will be available during office hours to take down complaints.
