NEW DELHI: Delhi's power supply saw the infusion of innovative technology with the launch of an oil-free transformer on a high platform here on Monday by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
"Besides being safer than the conventional transformer as it does not contain oil, the transformer, mounted atop a 30 foot-high platform to save space, will address the issue of traffic congestion in the area," a BSES, one of the capital's two electricity distribution companies (discoms), release said.
The packaged oil-free transformer has been installed in east Delhi that is under the jurisdiction of BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL).
