Classmate helps identify child killer in sketch, accused held

New Delhi: With the help of sketch prepared at the instance of deceased's friend helped Delhi Police arrest 25-year-old man who killed a minor child in Jaitpur area. Police claimed that the accused tried to be physical with the child. The child retaliated the move of the accused and threatened him that he will narrate this to his parents. The accused got scared and killed the child.
According to police, the accused was identified as Amar Nath, a native of Sholapur in Maharashtra, who was residing in Jhuggi in front of Agra Canal, Shivpuri, Jaitpur. On February 28, a complainant lodged with police station Jaitpur about missing of his 11-year-old son and apprehended that some unknown person might have kidnapped his son. In the morning on March 3 the dead body of the child was seen floating in Agra Canal opposite Banke Bihari Garden, Jaitpur. After discussion with the Autopsy Surgeon, it was revealed that the deceased had the sharp cut injury on his neck.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that the deceased was last seen with his classmate hours he went missing. During the examination, it was revealed by the deceased's classmate that on the day of kidnapping he had seen deceased with an uncle outside the school premises. "Accordingly, on the basis of the description of the suspect narrated by the child witness, sketches were prepared which helped nab the accused from Jhuggi in front of Agra Canal, Shivpuri in Jaitpur," said the DCP.
Police claimed that accused got friendly with the child and lured him to go with him. The child went along with the accused and when they reached near an isolated area near the Canal, the accused tried to be physical with the child which was resisted by the minor. Accused took out a knife from his pocket and wounded the neck of the child and killed him. After killing the child, in bid to wipe out the evidence, he dumped the body of the child in the Agra Canal.
