Class XI girl raped by three in Ghaziabad's Muradnagar

Ghaziabad: A 16-year-old was allegedly gang-raped by three men at a farm in Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad on Wednesday evening.

Police said that the Class XI girl was abducted and taken to a farm in the village. One of the three accused in the case is a minor, cops added.

According to police sources, the main accused has been identified as Jahid, while the other accused have been identified as Tinku and a minor.

All the accused belong to the same village as that of the victim.

"The victim had gone to a nearby computer shop when three men of her village, riding on a motorcycle, forcibly abducted her and took her to a farm where they took turns to rape her at gunpoint. The accused threatened the girl with dire consequences if she told about the incident to anyone," read the police complaint.

However, the girl somehow managed to reach her home and narrated her ordeal to her parents, following which they informed the police and a case of gang-rape was registered against the accused.

"Based on the complaint received, we have registered a case under sections 376D (punishment for gang rape) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance to common intention) of the IPC, and sections 4 and 5 of the POCSO Act against three persons. The victim has been sent for the medical examination, reports of which are awaited. Meanwhile, we have formed teams to nab the accused," said Lakshendra Kumar, Station House Officer, Muradnagar police station.

In a similar incident a week ago, a 21-year-old girl was gang-raped in Jewar area of Greater Noida. However, a case was registered on Wednesday night after the media intervened.

Police said that the girl was returning from her stitching classes when two persons of her village took her to a house and made her consume a drink laced with sedatives, following which they raped her. The police have registered an FIR while teams have been formed to nab the accused.
