Clashes during Muharram procession in Nangloi, police register three cases
Clashes occurred during a Muharram procession in Nangloi, resulting in the registration of three First Information Reports (FIRs) by the authorities.
The incident, which took place on Saturday, has prompted a swift response from law enforcement agencies to restore order and investigate the matter.
According to official reports, the FIRs have been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The complainants in these cases include Inspector Prabhu Dayal, SHO Nangloi; Inspector Nanag Ram, Inspector Law and Order, PS Nangloi; and Head Constable (HC) Mukesh Kumar, PS Nangloi.
The locations of the incidents have been identified as Surajmal Stadium, Nangloi Chowk, and near Nangloi Metro Station. The charges brought against the culprits include offenses related to rioting, causing damage to public property, assault, and attempts to endanger human lives, Harendra Kumar Singh, DCP Outer said. In response to the alarming situation, the authorities have mobilised several teams to diligently investigate the matter. Their primary objective is to identify the perpetrators responsible for the incident and initiate appropriate legal action against them, the official said.
With the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies, the situation has been brought under control, and law and order have been reinstated in the Outer District. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
Any relevant information from eyewitnesses or members of the public could prove vital in ensuring that the responsible individuals are brought to justice, Singh added.
