NEW DELHI: It was a misty Thursday morning in the national Capital, with the minimum temperature recorded at 9.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
"The sky will be clear, with mist in the morning," officials of the Meteorological Department said.
However, there was no respite on the pollution front, as air quality continued to be in the 'very poor category'. The Air Quality Index (AQI) around 9 am was 316.
For the past four days, AQI has been in the 'very poor' category, as it has been for most of the year. AQI on Wednesday was 320, four notches below Tuesday's 324. Humidity at 8.30 am was at 55 per cent and visibility stood at 2,000 metres.
MeT officials said there no rain is expected for the week. Maximum temperature hovered around 24 degrees Celsius.
One train was cancelled, while six were rescheduled and 17 were running late, a railway official said. Wednesday's maximum temperature was 25.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's normal, while the minimum temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius.
The weather watchdog maintained that winter has arrived in the Capital at the right time and this year the city will see a proper winter.
