CISF nabs foreigner woman with drugs worth Rs 15 crore

New Delhi: CISF nabbed a foreigner woman with three kilograms of narcotic substance (Methamphetamine) worth nearly Rs 15 crore at Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to CISF on April 2, an input was provided to CISF by Narcotics Control Bureau about a foreigner lady suspected to be carrying drugs. At about 8:30 pm surveillance and intelligence staff of CISF intercepted a foreigner lady near the departure gate number 3. Later, she was identified as Betty Rame a native of Zimbabwe who was traveling to Goa.
"She was selected for thorough search. Her baggage was passed through the X-BIS machine and an empty bag showed a suspicious image. On physical checking, that empty bag appeared to be unusually heavy. The CISF staff cut open the false cover and a packet weighing about three kilograms was recovered," said a CISF official.
CISF claimed that, a team of NCB officials also reached the spot and the recovered substance, which was found to be narcotic drug Methamphetamine (commonly known as party drug or ice). Finally, the said lady passenger was handed over to NCB officials by CISF along-with the drug.
