Chief Electoral Officer launches 'Electoral Literacy Club'

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vijay Dev on Friday launched the college level 'Electoral Literacy Club' at Delhi University's Deen Dayal Upadhaya College in Dwarka on Friday. The inauguration ceremony was organised by the District Magistrate (DM) of South West Delhi.

Addressing the audience, Dev particularly briefed the students about various aspects of the Electoral Literacy Club. He emphasised on the role of the female populace as a part of electorate as well as ethical and informed voting.

He said that Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities are carried out to create awareness that how every vote matters and for the youth to make informed decision.

The CEO thanked the principal and faculty of the College and congratulated the DM of South West for arranging such of well-planned programme.

The Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Dwarka, Kapashera, Najafgarh of South West district also attended the inauguration function.

Towards the conclusion of the programme, awards were distributed by the CEO to the office bearers of Electoral Literacy Club, the college and the winner of the Inter College Competitions held earlier.

The programme also included a song on electoral literacy presented by students of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya, Dwarka Sector-10, followed by a play by the students of the college.
