Cash van security guard, cashier foil robbery bid

NEW DELHI: In a failed robbery bid, two men were today shot at allegedly by unidentified assailants, who wanted to rob a cash van in the Metro Vihar area of Rohini, but their attempt was foiled by one of the victims on Tuesday afternoon. The incident happened when a cash van stopped outside the ATM in to replenish it with cash. When the cashier was inside, two men attacked the security guard and the cashier and opened fire. It is said that the duo thwarted the robbery bid as the cashier put down the shutter of the ATM to save himself. This move probably caught the robbers unprepared and as the crowd started swelling they were left with no option but to flee the spot. The two men were later admitted to the hospital. The cops are now trying to ascertain if the assailants have been following the cash van from a distance.
