Car dealer held for killing wife
New Delhi: A 21-year-old car dealer was arrested from West Delhi area for killing his wife over marital discord, police said. Two associates of the accused were also arrested in the case.
According to police, the deceased's father reported that his daughter, aged 20 years, was married to one Sahil Chopra, a resident of Janakpuri area, on March 27 this year.
"Her father also alleged that right from the beginning, her in-laws were torturing her for dowry. He further told us that his daughter's mobile phone was coming switched off since November 11," police said adding that, the complainant suspected something might have happened with his daughter.
Police started their investigation in the case which resulted in the arrest of Sahil and his associate Subham (resident of Dabri Extension). The other accused Badal (26) was arrested from his native village Gharaunda in Karnal district.
The investigation revealed that on the pretext of a visit in Panipat, the accused took her wife to Panipat and shot her dead on November 11.
Later, all three accused lead the police party to village Dadlana near Panipat refinery where the deceased's body was recovered from roadside bushes.
"She was killed by gunshot head injury by Sahil with the assistance of co-accused. Postmortem was conducted at a hospital in Panipat," police said.
The accused husband, who is a dealer of second hand cars, told police that he was fed up with the daily fight in his married life.
"All three accused produced in Dwarka Court and taken on two days PC remand. Further investigation is going on," police said.
