Capital creates 9 new wildlife inspector posts

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has approved nine wildlife inspector posts in the Forest and Wildlife Department to strengthen biodiversity protection. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said deploying inspectors across field divisions will curb poaching, manage human-wildlife conflict, and improve enforcement.

Earlier, only one sanctioned post existed at headquarters, leaving four field divisions without dedicated personnel and weakening on-ground action.

Officials said the move will strengthen conservation and enforcement. Of nine posts, eight will be filled through DSSSB recruitment,

with amended rules approved by the lieutenant governor and notified.
