Call centre staff, 1 other held in snatching cases

NEW DELHI: A call centre employee, fluent in English along with one of his associate has been arrested by Delhi Police in West Delhi's Punjabi Bagh.

Both the accused Rajan and Golu had been involved previously in several cases of snatching. Both of them have been arrested from Rohtak road in Madipur on July 17.

Two mobile phones were recovered from the pocket of accused Rajan and one loaded country-made pistol was recovered from the possession of accused Bholu.

During sustained interrogation, it was disclosed by both the accused that the two mobile phones were snatched by them just 40-45 minutes ago from the areas of K.N. Katju Marg and Maurya Enclave. Accused Golu speaks English fluently and used to work in a call centre.

Accused Rajan is a school dropout. They further disclosed that in order to live a lavish lifestyle, they used to snatch mobile phones. Rajan was involved in 2 cases of snatching while Golu in five cases of snatching.

"Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to ascertain their other involvements and to affect more recoveries. Both the Constables are being rewarded suitably," said Monika Bhardwaj, DCP West.
