Business management student hangs himself

Greater Noida: A 25-year-old student of business management allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan inside his hostel room on Tuesday morning. Police officials said that the student took the extreme step to end his life over his failed relationship with a girl. According to police, the deceased has been identified as Gladwin Das, a native of Agra. "Das was a first year student of PGDM at Lloyd college in Greater Noida and lived at GN hostel in Knowledge Park," said police officials.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when deceased's family called him several times on his mobile phone but they went unanswered. The family then alerted the hostel warden who peeped through the window of his room and found him hanging with the ceiling fan. The warden immediately alerted police and informed the family members of deceased.

Arvind Pathak, Station House Officer of Knowledge Park police station said that police have recovered a diary from deceased's room in which he has mentioned the reason which forced him to end his life.

"Following the information received, a police team rushed to the spot and took the body into custody which was later sent for the post mortem. Upon searching the room, police found a diary from Das's room in which he mentioned about his failed relationship with a girl. He wrote that his female friend befriended with some other boy which bothered him and he wanted to end his life," said Pathak.

"We have informed the family members of deceased who told us that Das had returned to Greater Noida from his home on Monday and they are totally unaware as why he took such a step," added Pathak.
