Bolivian national dies of cardiac arrest

NEW DELHI: A Bolivian national reportedly died of a cardiac arrest after he was detained at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Friday under suspicion of drug possession.
The man was identified as 49-year-old Salomon Edgar Vaca Arambel.
Delhi Police said that on Friday, a tip was received that Arambel was suspected to have drugs on him. He was examined by Customs staff at IGI airport and later produced at Patiala House Court for permission to conduct medical examination.
Medical examination was later conducted at RML Hospital, but nothing suspicious was found.
"On the way back to IGI Airport for handing over his belongings, Arambel fell sick and was admitted to Medanta Hospital at 8.44 pm on Friday by a Customs official. Later, he expired at the hospital at 10.11 pm. The doctor opined death due to cardiac pulmonary arrest," Deputy Commisioner of Police (IGI) Sanjay Bhatia said on Saturday.
