BJP slams Kejriwal, visiting CMs for showing solidarity

NEW DELHI: The Delhi unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday slammed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for "creating drama to further his political ambitions" with his sit-in protest at Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal's residence, demanding a direction to the IAS officers to end their non-cooperation with his government.

Delhi BJP president Shri Manoj Tiwari also said that it is "shocking to see the four Chief Ministers supporting the Delhi's Chief Minister, who has gone on strike evading the problems of peoples of Delhi."

"The support seems less based on logic and more on political bias towards BJP," Tiwari said.

The Delhi BJP chief pointed out to the four chief ministers, West Bengal's Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh's Chandrababu Naidu, Karnataka's HD Kumaraswamy and Kerala's Pinarayi Vijayan towards the statement of the Aam Aadmi Party's Punjab chief Sukhpal Khaira, where he talked about the 2019 elections being a referendum.

Tiwari urged the four CMs to express their opinion on the unconstitutional referendum proposal made by the Khaira.

In a tweet on the matter, Tiwari expressed surprise that Kejriwal, who sought postponement of the Niti Ayog meeting on the pretext of joining Eid celebration, was active in political parleys in Delhi on Friday and promoting unconstitutional political moves.

Earlier, Tiwari had asked the four chief ministers, who are here for the NITI Aayog governing council meeting on Sunday, to advise Kejriwal to focus on the problems being faced by the people of the national Capital.

"This is so unfortunate that the 4CMs have allowed themselves to be part of this #DharnaTamasha. Infact they should advise CM Delhi @ArvindKejriwal to focus on resolving severe Drinking Water Crisis which the people of Delhi are now facing, earn the confidence of Delhi officers (sic)," he had tweeted.
