Even after the gigantic victory of BJP in the Delhi Municipal Elections, the party decided to dedicate the win to the 26 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in the recent encounter in Sukma of Chattisgarh and not to celebrate.
In a hoarding featuring BJP state president of Delhi Manoj Tiwari saying "Maa tujhe salaam" has been put at outside the party headquarters. "We won't celebrate this victory and will dedicate it to the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Sukma Maoist attack," Tiwari said during a press conference after the party won 184 seats out of 270.
Moreover, the BJP national president Amit Shah asserted that strong action will be taken against the guilty in the CRPF encounter with the Naxal of Chhattisgarh's Sukma District. While addressing a press conference at Kolkata Press Club, he mentioned, "The BJP party would ensure to take strong action in the Sukma encounter case. Guilty would be punished."
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday also directed the Director General of the CRPF and the security adviser to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) K Vijay Kumar to stay put in Chhattisgarh and frame strategy to tackle Naxals in Sukma.
However, the political analysts feel that it is the win of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reclaimed the ground of the national capital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi by reposing faith in the BJP and ensuring its resounding victory in MCD polls.
"Grateful to the people of Delhi for the faith in BJP. I laud the hardwork of team @BJP4Delhi which made the resounding MCD win possible," he tweeted.
His tweet came as the BJP recorded a significant victory in polls to all the three municipal corporations of Delhi.
BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday said the people of Delhi have rejected the negative politics and put their seal of approval on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Sabka saath, sabka vikas' programme.
"This is an unprecedented win for the BJP. I express my gratitude to the people of Delhi. This is the victory of Modiji's leadership," he said reacting to the BJP's victory in the MCD polls.
AAP Cabinet reshuffle on cards
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to expand his Cabinet soon with the possible induction of a dalit face, after the Aam Aadmi Party's poor show in the Delhi municipal polls. AAP sources said senior minister Satyendar Jain may be relieved of the charge of the transport department, which was given to him after Labour Minister Gopal Rai gave it up. Apart from the transport department, Jain holds important portfolios like power, health and PWD that run the AAP government's flagship porgrammes such as mohalla clinic. Establishment of mohalla clinics and power subsidy given to people were highlighted by the party during the civic poll.
