Bizman shot dead in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: Unidentified assailants shot dead a businessman outside his factory in Hindon Vihar area of Sihani Gate in Ghaziabad on Wednesday night, triggering panic among the local peopls.

Rajeev Chauhan (45), who owned a chrome plating factory in Hindon Vihar area, was going towards his home in Nandgram area of Ghaziabad, when around 9.30 pm some assailants shot a bullet in his head outside the factory, said police officials.

"Locals conveyed the information to police, following which a police team rushed to the spot. Chauhan was found lying on the road in a pool of blood. He was rushed to Yashoda Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival," a senior police officer of Ghaziabad Police said.

According to a doctor at the hospital, Chauhan was brought to the hospital around 10.15 pm with a bullet injury in his forehead. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased alleged that Chauhan was shot dead by some of his ex-employees, who had earlier also threatened to killed him.

"Three ex-workers of the factory had been demanding money from Rajeev and used to stop him while he was on his way home and had even come to his house on a few occasions. They have been constantly threatening him and we suspect that the three men along with their family members could have committed the crime," said one of the family members.

Cops said on Thursday that an FIR in the case has been registered against seven people, including two unnamed persons, in the case. They added that initial investigation points to a monetary dispute.

"Based on the complaint filed by the family members of the deceased, we have registered an FIR under section 302 (murder) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against five named people of a family and two unnamed persons."

"We will question the identified persons for their involvement. Investigation is on and efforts are being made to nab the culprits," said a senior police official.
