The accident took place near Fore School of Management in the Qutab Institutional Area of south Delhi around 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Besides the youth, two of his friends sustained critical injuries in the head-on collision of their motorcycles.

"Raman was part of a group of bikers who were performing stunts, when his Bajaj Dominar collided with a Hyosung motorcycle. The two bikers, Charles Brin and Pradeep Nair, riding the Hyosung have sustained serious injuries," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal told IANS.

Raman was pursuing a draftsman's course and lived in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area.

Brin, 22, works in a Gurugram MNC and Nair works with a private company. He is a resident of Dakshinpuri, the police officer added.

Biswal said Brin and Pradeep, who are medically unfit to give their statements, came to perform stunts and bike racing. They were later joined by five other friends in the Qutab Institutional Area as the roads were almost traffic-free on Sunday morning.

A case of rash driving or riding on a public way, causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others, and causing death by negligence has been registered, the police said.

Raman's father had gifted him the bike this year. His family members denied that he was part of bike-stunt group, the police said.
