AVBP team meets LG, seeks action over 'anti-national' slogans

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal assured a five-member delegation of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) that he will speak to Delhi Police about their demands. The ABVP team had met the LG in Delhi on Friday demanding action by the police over the alleged anti-national slogans raised in Ramjas College on February 21 and the violence which took place on February 22.

"We were assured that he will speak to Delhi Police about the matter," said Saket Bahuguna, ABVP national media convener.

They complained to the LG that no separate FIR has been filed in the Ramjas incident by the police. The RSS-affiliated student body also asked Baijal for a probe into the alleged rape threats to Gurmehar Kaur, a student of Lady Shri Ram College and martyr's daughter who had started a campaign against ABVP.
