Auto driver shot dead in Shahdara
NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old auto driver was shot dead by two bike borne men in Delhi's Shahdara on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Rohit, a resident of Geeta Colony area. He sustained single bullet injury, Meghna Yadav, DCP Shahdara, said.
Police also suspects personal enmity behind the killing as there was no attempt of robbery, she added.
The incident happened on Tuesday night in Krishna Nagar area when Rohit was returning home after dropping off passengers. The incident was captured in a CCTV camera which was installed in the area. The police is now gathering some clues from the CTV footage available and trying to know the route of the bikers who shot Rohit dead.
The CCTV footage showed that two men on a bike came there and shot Rohit once and fled from the spot.
However, they could not be identified yet. Police has made several teams to identify and arrest the accused. The friends and family of the deceased are also questioned to get some clue of any sort of animosity with anyone the family is aware of.
Rohit resided in Geeta colony with his family.
It appears as if the assailants were following him and attacked him when they got a chance.
The phone records of the deceased are also being analysed. A case has been registered under 302 section of IPC and investigations is on.
