Another Shahberi builder arrested
Greater Noida: A day after the National Security Act (NSA) was approved by the Uttar Pradesh government against two erring builders who allegedly developed unauthorised flats in Shahberi area of Greater Noida, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have arrested another big builder who allegedly constructed over a hundred flats in Shahberi and got their registries done by producing fake papers thus cheating home buyers.
According to police, the arrested accused has been identified as Usman Mohammad Qureshi, a native of Jamia Nagar in Delhi and currently resided at Amrapali silicon city society in sector 75 of Noida. Cops said that the accused was wanted in cases of fraud and cheating.
Manoj Pathak, station House officer of Bisrakh police station said that the accused had developed flats on the land which was owned by Greater Noida authority.
"The accused had developed nearly 118 flats and sold them to buyers without mandatory approval of maps or necessary clearance to construct the building structure. The builder also got registries of these flats done keeping the buyers in dark about the owner ship of the land which is a notified property of Greater Noida authority" said Pathak.
The officer further said that a case under charges of fraud was registered against the accused at Bisrakh police station in 2018.
"Qureshi has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 288 (danger to human life by construction of a building), 420 (fraud) and 467, 468, 471 (forgery). A similar case was registered against him in 2018 against which he approached high court and got a stay on his arrest" added Pathak.
On July 17, 2018, two adjoining buildings in Shahberi village had collapsed, leaving nine people, including a child and two women, dead. The UP government has already approved NSA against two builders, Shahabuddin, who had constructed the buildings which had collapsed, and Jasvir Maan, who illegally developed and sold maximum flats in the area.
