All who came in contact with Corona infected people quarantined: CM
New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday held a joint meeting to review the preparedness for tackling Coronavirus, in the wake of four confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Delhi. LG of Delhi, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain and otherDelhi government officials were also present in the meeting.
The CM said, "All the ministers and the officials of the Delhi government and the Central Government were present at the meeting. A discussion on the significant developments and measures taken on Coronavirus as well as further actions that shall be taken was held in the meeting. We have successfully been able to contain the spread of Corona because both the governments are working in a coordinated manner."
"All the people who came in contact with the infected people have been identified and quarantined, which has contained the outbreak of the virus. We will also conduct awareness drives and public announcements and distribute pamphlets regarding Corona, and both the governments will cooperate on the matter. Airport authorities have been directed to conduct thermal screening of the passengers. Those from Delhi are also being monitored consistently for 14 days for any symptoms," he added.
CM warns of action against hoarding of masks, sanitizers
CM Kejriwal warned the public against hoarding of masks and hand sanitizers amid rising demand due to the coronavirus outbreak. He reiterated that people who are not suffering from any respiratory issues are not required to wear masks. He said, " Washing hands with regular soap and water for 20 seconds is enough."
"I will not celebrate Holi this year, due to Coronavirus and the riots that happened in Delhi recently. I want to wish everyone Happy Holi. I would like to appeal to all the people to stay away from crowded places. It is advisable to avoid any personal touch. Metro, buses, and hospitals will be disinfected daily," he added.
Delhi Metro coaches and DTC buses being sanitised
The Delhi government on Monday launched a drive to disinfect all DTC and cluster buses, and Metro trains on a regular basis in the wake of coronavirus outbreak. According to the government, it has also started displaying the advisories in ISBTs, bus depots, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses to inform the commuters about the symptoms, mode of transmission of coronavirus and Do's and Don'ts for the disease.
Delhi court asks lawyers, litigants to avoid gatherings
With India fighting hard to prevent spread of Coronavirus, the Delhi High Court has asked lawyers and litigants to avoid "unnecessary overcrowding" of the court premises. The public advisory states: "Therefore advocates, general public and litigants are requested to adhere to the guidelines/advisory issued by the Govt of NCT of Delhi and avoid unnecessary overcrowding in the court premises."
The court's circular also requested the Delhi Bar Association to display the circular on the notice board of the Delhi High Court Bar Association as well as bring the contents thereof to the knowledge of their members.
NGT issues notice stopping use of biometric
National Green Tribunal (NGT) has issued a notice stopping the use of biometric machines to mark attendance at the Principal Bench here. The directive comes into force with immediate effect till March 31. To prevent coronavirus, in terms of the advisory of Delhi government issued to various departments/offices, marking of attendance on biometric machines and use of the same is being stopped in National Green Tribunal, New Delhi with immediate effect till March 31.
"Attendance during this period is to be marked manually with arrival and departure time under the supervision of the concerned supervising officer," an office order issued by Registrar General Ashu
Garg said.
