Air pollution: Delhi Fire Services continues to sprinkle water
New Delhi: The Delhi Fire ServiceS (DFS) on Sunday sprinkled water on trees in central Delhi as part of its measures to control pollution.
Chief Fire Officer (DFS) Atul Garg said that in two days (Saturday and Sunday) DFS deployed more than 400 fire personnel and sprayed more than five lakh litres water in city to bring down the PM level.
DFS on Saturday had began sprinkling water in 13 pollution hotspots in the city.
The 13 pollution hotspots in Delhi, identified by the Central Pollution Control Board, are Rohini, Dwarka, Okhla Phase II, Punjabi Bagh, Anand Vihar, Vivek Vihar, Wazirpur, Jahangirpuri, RK Puram, Bawana, Narela, Mundka and Mayapuri.
Delhi has been grappling with hazardous levels of pollution since late October, with the air quality dipping to "severe" category a few times.
