After making key on the spot, duo stole bikes in 20 secs flat

New Delhi: With time, the modus operandi in auto lifting cases has changed. Nowadays, the auto-lifters make the keys on the spot and in 20 seconds they steal a vehicle.
These facts were revealed after Delhi Police nabbed two persons from Shahdara district. The law enforcement agency further claimed that with the money that they got from selling the vehicles, they used to go for holidays.
The arrested accused were identified as Arjun (33) and Mahesh (34). They were arrested on the basis of an information that they will come near the SDM Office in Geeta Colony. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad stated that the accused during interrogation admitted to have stolen more than 50 vehicles from Delhi and NCR. "A bunch of raw keys and a file to make duplicate keys were recovered from them. They disclosed that they search for single parked vehicles and used to prepare a duplicate key on the spot within 25-30 seconds to steal the vehicle," said the DCP.
She further claimed that after stealing the vehicles, they parked the stolen vehicle in a busy parking lot such as near hospitals, metro stations, and malls. They used to steal the vehicles for debauchery at the best locations in India such as Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Goa. They also disclosed that they used to sell the stolen bikes and scooties in Meerut and Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.
"Further investigation into the case is on to nab the buyers, Chand and Mulla Arshad," said the DCP.
