After four hour search, head constable reunites 2-yr-old with her parents

When the Head Constable of Hauz Khas police station, Jitender's eye fell on an unaided 2-year-old toddler at Green Park Metro station, he soon realised the girl was lost.

The head constable who was fasting owing to the Hindu festival, Navratra carried the toddler in his arms for long hours in the hope to reunite the little one with her family.
On Friday around 10.30, Jitender noticed the toddler wandering near the metro station. After observing the toddler's movements for some time, Jitender realised that she was lost.

Following this, he started the hunt for the parents with the two-year- old in his arm.

"It was difficult because the girl was not able to speak. I was left with no option but to take the girl at various locations near Green Park so that someone recognises her," said Head Contable Jitender.

Soon, he thought that the toddler might be more comfortable with a female staff, so Jitender informed his seniors after which ASI Usha joined him. The duo then took the toddler to various locations and manually enquired about her parents.

"She was fond of cold drink and biscuits. We bought her some and she enjoyed the eating stuff while we concentrated on the search," said Jitender.
The four hour long search operation fetched positive results when the search reached a full circle.

The lost toddler's father gave out a sigh of relief and thanked the police officer. "My wife was admitted at a hospital in Daryaganj. She left our 2-year-old Pinky with her 8-year-old sister. Somehow the kid slipped. I am indebted to Delhi police for their effort," said Pinky's father, Kunwar Pal.
