After 6 yrs, Assam girl finally rescued

New Delhi: Six years after getting trafficked from Assam, the Delhi Police traced a girl to Shalimar Bagh area. Police claimed that the girl was lured on the pretext of the job but she was cheated by the accused as no money was given to her.

The trafficking came to light in 2012, the victim's neighbour Deepak induced her to go with him to Delhi for vacations. After reaching Delhi, Deepak introduced her to Jacob Deep, who runs a placement agency. From Delhi, she was taken to Ludhiana where she was hired as domestic help.

In Ludhiana, she worked for two years and her salary was taken by Deepak. "In December 2013, Deepak and Jacob came to Ludhiana and took her back to Delhi, where she met her father Mangal Munda in the office of Jacob Deep in Tamoor Nagar. Both father and daughter wanted to go to their village but Deepak refused to give them money," said DCP (South East) Chinmoy Biswal.

"The accused told the victim that if she wants to go home, then she will have to work in a house in Udai Park area for 20 days, to which she agreed. Even after 30 days when Deepak did not turn up to take her back from Udai Park, she ran away from there, meanwhile, her father was being kept captive by Deepak and Jacob Deep in their Tamoor Nagar office," the DCP added.

In January 2014, the victim's mother approached the Delhi based NGO and told them that in 2012, her daughter, who was 16 then, had been kidnapped from Assam by a local agent Deepak.

She told police that her daughter was sold to one Jacob Deep who was running a placement agency in the name of AA House Keeping and Office Staff providers at Taimur Nagar, Delhi. Her husband also came to Delhi in search of their daughter but he was also detained by Deep at his Taimur Nagar office, the police said.

In 2015, an SIT was formed by JCP (Southeast), under the supervision of DCP (Southeast) to trace the missing girl, the police said.

Police claimed that a raid was conducted at their office in Tamoor Nagar and the girl's father was rescued. The accused Jacob Deep was also arrested.

However, as the victim had run away from Udai Park, she could not be traced. Losing the hope, the victim herself started doing domestic help job in Patel Nagar and finally settled down in Shalimar Bagh, where she was working as a part-time domestic help from last two years from where she was finally traced.
