Action against CISF staff for manhandling passenger
New Delhi: A Delhi Metro commuter has alleged that he was beaten up by a staff of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) posted at Kashmere Gate Metro station, after he placed his bag on the security scanner and hurriedly went to buy a Metro token.
CISF officials on Wednesday said that disciplinary action has been initiated against three of its personnel, all constables, involved in the incident.
The complainant Ashish said that he had reached the station on the morning of June 26 to go to Delhi airport. After he placed his bag at the X-ray baggage inspection system, he hurriedly went to the token counter. However, a CISF staff told him to take his bag with him.
In his complaint, Ashish stated that he tried to show his air ticket to the CISF staff, "but he snatched my mobile and said I am insulting the duty officers. He then took me inside a room and started slapping me."
The staff was later joined by two more constables.
