New Delhi: On Wednesday morning, when 16-year-old Abhishek switched on the television, he found news channels breaking the news of the arrest of the assailant who murderd his father Prem Kumar, the security guard of the cash van that was robbed in Narela last week.
Abhishek's first reaction was to inform his mother Baby, who is yet to come to terms with her husband's murder, which took place on April 26. Prem Kumar was shot multiple times by the three criminals before they fled with Rs 12 lakh.
"They shot my father from the back. Had they dared to confront him from front, he would have retaliated. Now that they are caught, I want them to be killed the same way as they murdered my father. They should get the severest punsihment for what they did," said the teenager.
Kumar Prashant, the 22-year-old son of custodian Rajnikant, also got to know about the arrest of his father's murderers from TV news.
"we are still to come to terms with the death of my father. Just a few months back, he was awarded the best custodian award by his company. Everything finished witin seconds. We are a bit relieved that the assailants are caught," Prashant said.
With the lone bread winner gone, his wife and daughter were inconsolable.
"I never thought of any punishment to the murderers. It is too much for me to cope up with my husband's death. Nothing can bring him back. I just wish that the law of the land should prevail and speedy justice be brought to us," said Renu Singh, the wife of Rajnikant.
In a noble gesture, the family has already donated Rajnikant's eyes. "We want someone to see from my father's eyes," said Preeti, the 19-year-old daughter of Rajnikant.
