New Delhi: The plan to murder his wife and 18-month-old son was hatched by Omprakash three to four months ago, Delhi Police sources said on Wednesday, adding that he believed that the infant was not his biological son.
Sources also said that the accused told cops that he had tried to kill himself out of guitl by tring to slash his arms, after he murdered his wife and the minor boy.
"He had hatred for his wife and thought that the 18-month-old child was not his child. That's why he stabbed them and then beat to death with a hammer," police said.
DCP (North West) Aslam Khan told reporters on Wednesday that the accused had started planning the double murder several months ago.
"Omprakash confessed that he was suspicious of his wife. Her relatives also claimed that he had doubts over the minor child's parentage," said Khan
The police team received information that the accused was planning to go to a far-away location, in order to evade the clutches of the police.

Recently, due to constant arguments and regular fighting, the victim Shobha had gone to her parents' home.
As part of his plan, Omprakash went to his in-laws' house and convinced Shobha that he would mend his ways and not fight with her anymore.
Trusting his words, Shobha returned to his house, where she was eventually murdered.
