New Delhi: "After killing the accused Awdhesh (murder accused) remained cool we never thought that he had killed the child," said the family members of the seven-year-old.
The family members of the child told Millennium Post that one day after committing the murder, Awdhesh brought liquor bottle, plastic glass, the packet of chips and told the deceased family that these things might be of the accused who had kidnapped the seven-year-old boy. "It was one of the technique to mislead the family," said Karan Saini, the father of the child. For fifteen days after killing the child, the accused was living with the family and even sleeping in their house.
On the day when the child went missing the accused accompanied the family in searching the child till 3 am. "During the missing period, we cleaned his clothes, gave him food to eat and in turn he killed my child," said the father. He further said, "We installed the CCTV cameras after the incident which was opposed by the accused and we gave his name as suspect to police and after that, he stooped coming to the house."
The accused purchased food items for the deceased to make sure that the child had blind trust on him. "He also told us that police are following his orders and due to his reputation the investigation is going on," said Seelam, one of the deceased's relative.
Het Ram, deceased's grandfather went several times to accused room where he had kept the boy for more than one month. "I told him that some smell is coming but Awdhesh replied me saying that it was the smell of rat who might have died whenever I went to his room he was found cleaning the floors," said Het Ram. The house where the accused lived was owned by Raja Ram Gupta. "He used to put perfume on clothes before going so we did not suspect any foul play even Awdhesh parents had stayed with him for few days," said Raja Ram.
The accused claimed himself working as the senior-level officer. He had also shown a gun to the family members. "He told us that he will ensure jobs for the youth living in the area," said one of the family members. The accused also showed his Facebook profile to the family members in which he claimed himself as an officer from Intelligence Bureau (IB) and other security agencies. The family claimed that in the past also a kidnapping case of a family member had happened a few years ago and in that case also the body was found in the drain. Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest) Aslam Khan claimed that the accused was not mentally unstable but a hardcore criminal who remained cool even after killing.
