ABVP raises DU students' issues
New Delhi: Thousand of students in support of ABVP held a rally to raise their voices for concessional pass for students in metro, construction of new colleges and hostel, scholarships and fellowship for SC, ST and OBC students, installation of CCTV in the campus. "Through this rally we want to register our demands to the central and state government and also request Delhi University (DU) administration to take positive steps in this direction immediately," ABVP state secretary Bharat Khatana said while addressing the students.
Shri Niwas, National joint organising secretary, ABVP said: "ABVP has given 15 days time to government to fulfill the demands like linking of scholarships with respect to price index, increment in number of beneficiaries of fellowship for SC, ST and OBC students, increment in the number of hostels etc. We are completely committed to the cause. And will also expose urban naxals hidden in different universities."
The campaign will be run to eliminate the thinking of "urban naxalism" from universities across the country. Issues related to nationalism, urban Naxalism and foreign infiltration will be raised in the DUSU and JNUSU elections, said Sriniwas.
