AAP’s song showcases Kejriwal’s achievements and new promises
NEW DELHI: In a bid to connect with the masses ahead of the upcoming Delhi elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released a new Punjabi song titled ‘Dilli Da Putt Kejriwal’ on the occasion of Lohri, aimed at securing the re-election of Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister of Delhi. The song, which has quickly gained traction on social media, highlights various initiatives launched under Kejriwal’s leadership and calls on the people of Delhi to vote for him once again.
The song, shared widely on the platform X, features lyrics that focus on Kejriwal’s welfare programs and promises for the future. The central message of the song is a call for continued support for Kejriwal, urging voters to choose him again. The popular line, “Is Vaari Sun Lo, Phir Kejriwal Nu Chunn Lo,” appeals to Delhi residents to re-elect the AAP leader to ensure the continuation of the welfare schemes introduced during his tenure. The song highlights several key initiatives, including free electricity, water, and the teerth (pilgrimage) programme for senior citizens. These programmes have been central to the AAP’s governance, and the song aims to remind the public of the impact these initiatives have had on their lives. Additionally, the song promotes two new promises made by Kejriwal in the run-up to the elections, Rs 2,100 per month for women under the Mahila Samman Yojana and free medical treatment for senior citizens above the age of 60 under the Sanjeevani Yojana.
AAP leaders have used the release of the song as an opportunity to reinforce their message ahead of the Delhi elections. “The song encapsulates the aspirations of Kejriwal and his commitment to progress,” an AAP spokesperson stated. The party’s goal with this release is to energize voters and emphasise the tangible benefits of Kejriwal’s leadership. The timing of the song’s release on Lohri is also significant, as it is a festival that celebrates community and progress. However, the song’s focus on welfare schemes and financial promises aligns with the party’s broader electoral strategy, aiming to appeal to various voter segments by emphasizing its record on public services and social welfare.
While the song is gaining attention, the political impact it may have on Delhi’s electorate remains to be seen. The upcoming elections will test whether these promises and initiatives, as showcased in the song, resonate with the city’s voters or if other issues will take precedence in their decision-making.
