NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party leader Dilip Pandey scathing attacked on BJP-led Municipal Corporation of Delhi's proposed hike taxes in North as well East Delhi corporations, while BJP made it clear that they are not bothered about the welfare of the people and is out to put additional financial burden on the residents of Delhi.
Rather than introducing three new taxes, the East MCD should first work on rectifying the under collection of the existing taxes.
They should learn from the 'zero' tax budget being tabled by the finance minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.
While the AAP led Delhi Government is decreasing the tax burden on the people of Delhi, the BJP-led MCDs are time and again burdening them with taxes.
"The mismanagement in collection of existing taxes and the introduction of new taxes makes it quite clear that the BJP has failed to work on the financial corruption and mismanagement in the corporations.
"Neither they can clean the garbage nor can manage the finances of the corporations. They have failed on all counts," said the AAP leader.
"Manish Sisodia has been presenting zero burden budgets, which are people friendly and has proved that AAP can govern better than the BJP.
"BJP has increased property tax by 5% in the name of education. MCDs have killed education in Delhi and now they are hiking property tax. They should learn from Delhi's Finance Minister and his budget," said Pandey.
After the proposed hikes in the budget of BJP-led North & East MCD, the proposed budget of the BJP-led South MCD has also increased taxes on the people of South Delhi.
