AAP (S Delhi) deploys team to monitor strong room security
NEW DELHI: As the electoral process proceeds post elections, the Aam Aadmi Party's South Delhi Unit has deployed a vigilance team of over 20 volunteers who will be taking shifts to monitor the strong rooms at Jijabai Industrial Training Institute for Women, August Kranti Marg, Siri Fort.
The counting centre will count votes for Mehrauli, Chattarpur, Devli, Ambedkar Nagar, Sangam Vihar, Kalkaji, Tuglakabad, Bijwasan, Palam and Badarpur assembly segments. For any elections, the counting process is a very sacred, sensitive and important part of the process. In our endeavour to act as custodians of democracy and to ensure free and fair elections, the AAP has deployed highly skilled volunteers and charged them with vigilance duty outside Jijabai School.
They will be closely monitoring the security issues related to storage of EVMs during the counting process. They will be closely watching the CCTV footage of the strong room to ensure no malpractices takes place within the inner perimeter of the school. They will be making periodic inspections to verify the strong room security and will continue to stay on sight until counting is done.
Raghav Chadha, AAP South Delhi Lok Sabha candidate said, "I congratulate the EC on the successful completion of polling in Delhi and look forward to a favourable result on the 23rd of May, 2019. In keeping with the spirit of democracy, a vigilance team of AAP volunteers has been deployed to ensure that other political parties are not able to engage in electoral malpractices. They have been especially trained to identify any signs of deviation from said process."
